liqy was a product for buying NFTs with UPI.
While designing NFTs at Elite NFT, I saw how hard it was for people in India to buy one. I kept wondering why there was no simple tool where you could just pay with UPI.
So I tried to build it.
What went wrong
There were a lot of regulatory hurdles. I tried my best and built the product anyway.
Then I got scammed. I lost a lot of money on this. A two-digit lakh amount.
When I shut down Elite NFT, I shut down liqy with it. It never did much.
What I learned
Building a product is not as easy as hiring an agency and asking them to make it for you.
That lesson cost me, but it stuck.
